Meet Grace

My name is Grace Cramer and I am the owner of New Mercies Birth Doula Services. I have been a doula since 2010 and have been actively attending births since 2014. I am a Boise native and I love the birthing options available to families in the Treasure Valley! I attend hospital, home, and free standing birth center births. Birth is a transformative, empowering, and even healing experience and I absolutely love my role supporting women in labor and birth. In fact, so much of my own calling to be a doula comes out of my own unique birthing experiences.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Josh, and together we have 3 amazing daughters, all born with the support of a doula. I have a Bachelors of Interior Architecture from the University of Oregon. When I left the design world to become a mom I discovered I had a passion and calling for birth work and I have never looked back!

When I’m not attending births I can be found working on sewing projects, working part time at an insurance agency, learning mandolin, and spending time with my family.

I am a DONA trained (2010) and certified (2014, recertified 2017 & 2020) birth doula. I am committed to continuing education and abiding by the DONA standards of practice.

At my very core is a desire for each of my clients to have a satisfying birth experience as she defines it. It's not about me and what I think you should do. It's about you being well supported in your journey. Birth doesn't always go as planned, but if you are well taken care of, respected, and empowered to participate in the process your satisfaction will surely be greater. Memories of your children’s births will stay with you for a lifetime. I want to help make those memories good ones.

“Grace was outstanding!  She gave us excellent support before, during, and after the birth.  She's extremely personal, and genuinely interested in her clients.  When my wife hit an emotional wall about 90% of the way through labor, Grace was able to pray with her, assure her, and help her move forward with confidence and peace.  We would hire her again in a heartbeat.  Thanks Grace!”

“Grace provided outstanding support throughout the whole process. She was always willing to listen and provide a word of encouragement as I waited impatiently to meet my baby. Being a doula is something that comes naturally to Grace; she intuitively finds ways to encourage, distract, support and labor with the mom. And there just are not words for the pictures she captures. I strongly believe that God used Grace to turn a difficult, trying experience into something beautiful and sweet.”

“We were so blessed to have found Grace to be our doula. We are first time parents and had loads of questions and concerns which Grace patiently and thoroughly answered. She took special care to ask us about any concerns we had and talked us through them. She provided us with a lot of resources and helped me make a great postpartum plan since I live so far from my family. She also made me feel like more than just a client but a friend that she sincerely and deeply cared about. She is so personable and easy to talk to! During my labor she was a comfort and joy. I can't express how happy I am to have had her at our birth!”
